Shadowrun BGM

I started playing Shadowrun for the Sega Genesis again.
It's a seriously dark game for a fun loving system like the Genesis, in fact it reminds me a little of a futuristic Grand Theft Auto.
The thing I like most about it though, other than the silly dialogue with everyone calling each other "chum" or "chummer" is the great background music in the game. Almost every song has like a dance music style beat to it and they are all pretty memorable.
I couldn't find any of it online so I ripped a bunch of it myself with Audacity.
Some of these would probably make cool ringtones or something, do whatever you like with it chummer.
These are all .wav files. (click to play/download)
(I realize I should have made these .mp3's instead of .wav's, they all have large file sizes, anywhere from 5-17 MB, but I'm not converting and re uploading these now, you'll just have to deal with it.)

Track list:
1.   Shadowrun
2.   Redmond Barrens
3.   Jackal's Lantern
4.   Puyallup Barrens
5.   Jump House
6.   Downtown
7.   Renraku Arcology
8.   Cyberspace
9.   Abandoned Warehouse
10. Council Island
11. Salishe Shide
12. Icarus Descending

If you want to download the whole thing as a .rar file, click HERE. (74 MB)

Aurcade and the Kong Off

My friends and I have always wanted a list of every arcade game in our town to see exactly what's out there.
Well someone made a website to do just that, on a worldwide scale!
The website is http://aurcade.com/ and as of this writing they have over 11,000 games in their database.
I've personally been going all over my little suburban city and finding quite a few games, with the help of a few friends we will have an accurate view of the arcade scene here very soon.
The Aurcade only documents pinball and video games, no redemption games! That's perfect because we all know that redemption games are a curse upon mankind.
I hope that at least some of our readers will help with the Aurcade project. It's pretty fun.

In other news...
The Kong Off is happening in a few days! March 20th - March 21st actually. It is going to be held at Richie Knucklez' Arcade in New Jersey.
The current world record holder Dr. Hank Chien will be there, as well as Billy Mitchell and Steve Wiebe, plus the other top Donkey Kong players.

The Kong Off will be streamed live on Justin.tv.

Recently The All Gen Gamers Podcast did an interview with Hank Chien, he's totally hilarious and seems like a really nice guy, the podcast is worth checking out, All Gen Gamers does a good show anyways.

If you're wondering why anyone would care about a bunch of people playing Donkey Kong, then you must not have seen the film King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters.
If that's the case, stop what you're doing and get a hold of that movie. you can buy it from Amazon for like $6.00 USD, Netflix has it, or you can be a dirty pirate and grab it on bittorrent.
But seriously, watch that film, you won't be disappointed.

Spriter Kredits

Recently I've been teaching myself to make little animated banners for affiliation and fun. I've become slightly obsessed with them, they are really fun to make!
I can already tell that I'll be making more and more of these, so I wanted to have a post giving credit to the original spriters that ripped the sprites I'm using for my banners and other projects.
Spriting is a lot harder than making silly little animations and I want to thank all of you out there doing it!

This post will be updated as necessary ^.^

The Nam Pooh sprite for this banner was ripped by Nemu.

For this little Sailor V banner I modified a blank template from The Oracle.

The sprites for the Arcade Perfect logo were made with the NFG's Arcade Font Tool.

The sprites for this Donkey Kong Banner were ripped by Zeon. I used the almighty NFG Arcade Font Tool again here also.
